You shouldn\u2019t be spending your hard-earned money on maintenance fees \u2013 you also should be earning some serious interest on your checking and savings accounts.\u00a0 Interest is always dependent the prime rate, so it will fluctuate, but it\u2019s always a good idea to reassess your accounts periodically to ensure that you\u2019re still getting the very best deal for you personal banking needs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">2.\u00a0 TURN OFF THE TELEVISION<\/h4>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">How\u2019s this for a new idea?? One big way to save money is to watch less television.\u00a0 There are a lot of financial benefits to this: less exposure to guilt-inducing ads, more time to focus on other things in life, less electricity used, less need for DSTV and so on.\u00a0 It\u2019s great to unwind in the evening, but seek another hobby to do that.\u00a0 Read a book, cook a nice dinner, do puzzles with your kids or take a long walk with your spouse.\u00a0 You\u2019ll feel better for it and spend less money!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">3.\u00a0 TURN A CRITICAL EYE TO YOUR \u2018COLLECTIONS\u2019<\/h4>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most people collect something \u2013 what do you collect?\u00a0 Stamps, watches, sunglasses, coins, shoes, toy trains, and limited edition comics \u2013 the list is endless.\u00a0 If you want to get serious about your spending habits then ask yourself these questions:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Is it something that consistently brings you joy?<\/li>\n<li>Is it something that you just do out of habit?<\/li>\n<li>Does the collection itself have value?<\/li>\n<li>Could you perhaps \u201ctrim the fat\u201d from this collection by getting rid of duplicates or getting rid of the items you no longer use?<\/li>\n<li>Also, could you perhaps cut down on your spending on that hobby?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Focus on cutting back the things you don\u2019t feel strongly about and you\u2019ll find that you have more money to invest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">4.\u00a0 SIGN UP FOR EVERY FREE CUSTOMER REWARDS PROGRAM YOU CAN<\/h4>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even if you rarely shop at that place, having a rewards card for that place will eventually net you some coupons and discounts.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the basic game plan for maximizing these programs: create a Gmail address just for these mailings, collect every card you can, and then check that account for saved points or cash whenever you\u2019re ready to shop.\u00a0 No matter how small the amount may be, it\u2019s money for jam!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">5.\u00a0 MAKE YOUR OWN GIFTS INSTEAD OF BUYING THEM<\/h4>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Just five minutes on Pinterest and you\u2019ll have more than enough ideas that you can mae at home, quite easily and inexpensively!
